Disinfecting deals with killing microorganisms (which can only be seen under a microscope).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cleaning is generally accomplished by spraying a disinfectant onto the soiled object then wiping it clean with a rag.  Disinfecting is generally accomplished by spraying a surface disinfectant onto the object.  Examples of surface disinfectants are Lysol and 1:10 Bleach Solution.  Examples of cleaning agents include Isopropyl Alcohol, 1:10 Bleach Solution, Foamy Disinfectant, Disinfectant wipes.  To disinfect, simply spray a surface disinfectant on solid surfaces and let them air dry.   <strong><em>Spray it and walk away<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bleach 1:10 solution does it all.  It cleans and disinfects.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"250\" height=\"173\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.lbl.gov\/ehs\/pub3000\/CH26\/assets\/docs\/CH26-dev-part2_files\/image078a.jpg\">\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"246\" height=\"172\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.lbl.gov\/ehs\/pub3000\/CH26\/assets\/docs\/CH26-dev-part2_files\/image079a.jpg\"><em><strong>Wipe How to mix, use, and store bleach so that it is effectivehard work surfaces\u00a0<\/strong>and equipment with 1% solution of fresh household bleach and allow to air dry<\/em>\u00a0<em>Add household bleach to liquid biohazardous\u00a0<strong>spills or liquid waste<\/strong>\u00a0until a 10% concentration of bleach is achieved for 20 minutes.<\/em>Household bleach is a water-based solution of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) with a typical concentration of 5.25% by weight of the NaOCl active ingredient.
